ACCE(I)- Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India)

The Department of Civil Engineering, Siddhartha has obtained Organization Life Membership of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) on 11th November 2015. The student chapter of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) i.e. ACCE(I) is formed on 21st December 2016 in the Department of Civil Engineering to increase the technical skills and industry relations of the students.

OBJECTIVES

• To foster ideals of profession, promote friendship, establish rules for professional and ethical conduct and to develop social awareness and responsibility in the members.
• To bring to the members the latest technological advancements in the world, prepare them to carry out futuristic designs with an eye on assurance of quality, to give access to technical papers, books and computer software, to arrange lectures by distinguished engineers from India and abroad and to conduct study tour of projects.
• To act as spokesman for the Consultants to deal with Government, Corporations and other agencies regarding policy matters.
• To identity the areas in which consultants can contribute to the betterment of the Country like rural housing, urban development, low cost housing etc.

Association of civil Engineering students

Association of civil Engineering students (ACES) is the student body in the Department of civil engineering formed for the purpose of benefitting students in improving their curricular and extracurricular skills. In ACES there are various platforms for students to improve their interested areas in the name of Civil Clubs Such as:

  •         Academic Club
  •         Book Club
  •         Language Club
  •         Startup Club
  •         Social Club

Objectives:

  •        To provide a vibrant platform for knowledge sharing
  •        To promote educational activities towards civil engineering
  •        To bring together students and areas of Engineering and Research
  •        To promote models by encouraging students to create existing or new    prototypes
  •        To Enable Student – student , student – faculty interaction.

ENGINEERS WITH OUT BORDERS (EWB)

EWB-India has been established as a non-profit Society to involve students and other professionals with special or general skills, in a movement of constructive change. And offer sustainable solutions in the areas of water, Sanitation, Energy, Health and Education It is inspired by an urgent concern for accelerating sustainable development in backward rural and urban communities of India, protecting the country’s natural resource base and working across national boundaries for social and economic justice and responsible use of technology.

OBJECTIVES:
• Direct application of engineering knowledge to undertake real life sustainable social projects.
• To provide solutions to real life problems using engineering skills of all disciplines
• To promote social responsibility and to optimize the over consumption of natural resources.
• To bring together students and areas of Engineering and Research.
• To provide platform for collaborative projects and sustainable usage of natural resources by indigenous technology.
• To enable student-student, student- faculty interaction of all engineering disciplines and to maintain industry relations.

American Society of Civil Engineers

The student chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is formed in Department of Civil Engineering to expose students to the frontiers of technology in the field of civil. ASCE is a leading provider of technical and
professional conferences and continuing education, the world’s largest publisher of civil engineering content, and an authoritative source for codes and standards that protect the public.

Objectives:

 To promote professionalism.
 To provide facilities for learning advanced technologies in civil
     engineering
 To promote educational activities towards Civil Engineering
 To bring together students and areas of Engineering and Research
 To provide a vibrant platform for knowledge sharing and life long learning

The Institute of Engineers (India) (ACES) is the students chapter formed in 2016 in the Department of Civil Engineering to increase the technical skills of the students
OBJECTIVES:
• Organizing lectures by corporation members and others on the subject of engineering interest.
• Organizing paper meetings, discussions, seminars and technical film shows on selected subjects.
• Organizing visits to engineering projects, construction sites, factories, workshops, laboratories etc.
• Organizing competitions on technical subjects including annual paper writing, model building and quiz competitions.
• Promotion of social contacts among students.
• Any other activity conducive to the technical and intellectual advancement of the students.

INDIAN GEOTECHNICAL SOCIETY (IGS) STUDENT CHAPTER 

Indian Green Building Council

IGBC has been established as a non-profit Society, Under the Society’s Act, to involve engineers, and other professionals with special or general skills, in a movement of constructive change. The Student Chapter was launched in the college to motivate and create awareness among the students about the importance of Green Buildings in different types of construction and practices and help for the Sustainable livings.
Objectives
• To create an awareness about Green Buildings.
• Designed to address conservation of natural resources, infrastructure, water efficiency, energy efficiency, handling of domestic waste.
• Focuses on enchasing health and well-being of the occupants.

 “Indian Concrete Institute is one of the leading professional bodies in India, catering to the professional needs of individuals and organisations involved in Concrete. Being a non-profit Organisation, it is dedicated to the cause of Disseminating Knowledge on Concrete, to Promote Concrete Technology and Construction and to address the Research Needs of Concrete”.
Objectives of the Chapter
 To bridge the gap between what we are learning in classroom and what is happening in site.
 To promote growth of concrete construction and its sub-specializations.
 ICI provides opportunity to listen to, and to interact with experts from within the country and abroad.
 To disseminate information and to arrange to train personnel for the needs of changing concepts in the technology.
 To collaborate with national and international agencies in creating better understanding of concrete construction technology.
 To identify R & D problems of practical relevance to concrete construction technology.
 To institute and distribute awards for outstanding achievements in concrete construction technology.
 To arrange periodical seminars and exhibitions on the subject and
 To arrange annual lecture series on selected topics of relevance to concrete constructions.
 Access to ICI Archives, which is a collection of valuable Technical Papers.
