About The Department

The Department has started UG Programme in Information Technology during the year 2000 with an initial intake of 60 students and intake enhanced to 120 in the year 2007 and increased to 180 in 2022. The UG Programme is accredited by NBA during 2008-09,  2014-17,  2017-20 and the accreditation was extended  upto 2028. The Department has PG Programme in AI&DS with 18 Students in the year 2022-23. Strength of the Department is 30 active faculty, out of them 14 Doctorates from IITs, NITs and Reputed Universities. Faculty are specialized in diversified research areas like AI, ML,  IoT, Cloud Computing,  Cyber Security,  Image Processing, Remote sensing and Software Reliability. Department has Collaborative laboratories in association with Apple, IBM and Anblicks. Startups are established in the Department and have 20+ MoUs with Industry Partners, 50+ Companies offering Internships. The Department is recognized as Research Center by JNTU, Kakinada since 2018.Department bagged 500+ research publications, 35+ patents, and research projects from national bodies ISRO, UGC, and AICTE with total research grant of Rs.59,87,520/- and consultancy amount of Rs.30,82,029/-. Department is blessed with dynamic students through consistent academic results and 100% placement record for the last 05 academic years. Department is running 03 professional student chapters  –  CSI,  ACM,  ACMW and 05 Student Clubs – Google Developer Student Club(GDSC), CodeChef, AIML, ThinkD and Samskruthi.

Faculty

The Boards of Studies of the respective program prepare the program curriculum and course syllabus and approved by the Academic Council. Program Outcomes, Knowledge, skills and attitude, and Program Educational Objectives have been established for each program and the curriculum and course syllabus have been structured in such a way that each of the course contributes to the one or more of these outcomes. The curriculum and course syllabus varies depending on the year of admission.
