About The Department
The Department of Civil engineering was established in 1977 at the inception of the college. The under graduation program was started with an intake of 60 later increased to 120 in 2007 and further increased to 180 in 2011. The Department started offering Postgraduate courses Structural Engineering from 1999 and Geotechnical Engineering from 2016 with an annual intake of 18 each. At the postgraduate level, we offer M. Tech. degree in Structural Engineering. The number of sanctioned students for B. Tech., and M. Tech. SE. are 60, and 12, respectively, per year. Currently, the department has 12 Ph.D. scholars. The department has state of the art advanced laboratories to cater the needs of students, research and consultancy. The department has total faculty of over Twenty-Two, with Seventeen doctorates and Three more pursuing PhD. The department takes pride in its highly experienced faculty specialized in all major specializations of Civil Engineerig.

We have a robust undergraduate program in Civil Engineering and allow our students to do Minor degree in Computer Science Engineering or Information Technology or Electronics and Communication Engineering. At the postgraduate level, we offer M. Tech. degree in Structural Engineering. The number of sanctioned students for B. Tech., and M. Tech. SE. are 60, and 18, respectively, per year. Currently, the department has 16 Ph.D. scholars.

Our department has established a strong placement record, about 85% placement offers secured over the last three academic years, about 15% higher education and entrepreneurship. This achievement reflecting the quality of education, industry-oriented training and the employability of our students. The highest salary package of ₹14.75 LPA achieved during the 2025–26 placement season highlights the growing confidence of leading recruiters in our graduates. Renowned organizations such as Sobha Developers, RAMCO Cements, LEAP India, TCS, TYPSA, Design Tribe, CtrlS Data Centres, MEIL, Rithwik Projects Pvt. Ltd., 4K Sports Infra, BSR Infra, and Delphi-TVS have consistently recruited our students across diverse sectors. These achievements demonstrate the department commitment to academic excellence, skill development and fostering strong industry partnerships that prepare students for successful and rewarding careers.
Faculty
The Department of Civil Engineering is supported by a highly qualified and experienced faculty, many of whom hold Ph.D. degrees and are recognized as research guides. Their expertise spans diverse domains, including Construction Materials and Management, Fiber- Reinforced Concrete (FRC), 3D Concrete Printing, Repair and Rehabilitation of Structures, Structural Health Monitoring, Ground Improvement Techniques, Geosynthetics, Geospatial Technology, and Glaciology. The faculty actively undertake government- and industry-sponsored research projects, publish high-quality research papers in reputed international journals, and hold patents in emerging areas of civil engineering. They regularly present their research at national and international conferences and participate in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and other professional development initiatives. Strong collaborations with industry and research organizations enrich teaching, promote innovation, and provide students with valuable practical exposure. Through their commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and consultancy, the faculty play a vital role in developing competent civil engineers and future innovators.
