Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality Laboratory
The AR/VR/MR Laboratory is established (in year 2022) to explore the world of immersive technologies and their real-time applications. The lab is equipped with high-performance systems, AR/VR headsets, motion sensors, and development platforms to support design and innovation. This facility enables students and researchers to create interactive simulations, virtual environments, and mixed reality solutions for diverse domains such as education, engineering, healthcare, architecture, and entertainment. With hands-on training and project-based learning, the lab encourages students to develop skills in 3D modeling, game development, human-computer interaction, and industry-oriented applications. It also supports research activities, startups, and collaborations with industry to drive innovation in emerging technologies.
Industry 4.0 symbolize the fourth industrial revolution which is essentially the digitalization of the industries with the help of AR/VR/MR solutions to aid the manufacturers with the self-diagnosis, automation, analytics, better working condition for employees and digital supply chain. AR/VR/MR allows adding or changing certain elements of the products in real time and allows monitoring of information through sensors and controllers.
The main activity of this laboratory would be development of tools, visualization environments and applications based on Virtual Reality, Augmented and Mixed Reality, tracking and natural interaction, computer vision techniques and visual analytics of large amount of data for the resolution of problems and technological challenges.
AR and VR technologies are being used across various industries, such as smart cities, Engineering, Construction, Automotive, Transportation, Manufacturing ,Film and TV,Gaming and Health tech.
